“We recently had to move my nearly 90 year old father out of the large family home of nearly 60 years . My mother had gone into hospital care and my father wanted to be with her as quickly as possible. Myself and my sister live out of Auckland. So it was a daunting task to prepare the house for sale and move him with neither of us on-hand to do everything that had to be done. The work included sorting through furniture packing and sending it around the country to family, packing up what Dad wanted to move into his new place. Disposing of unwanted furniture and accumulated “stuff”. Then cleaning the house and tidying the section. Organising movers, co-ordinating the move on the day, cleaning and unpacking at my father’s new house.

The real estate agent recommended Andrea Mitchell as a personal concierge to help with everything that had to be done. Andrea was a life-saver for us. We really couldn’t have done it without her. She cleaned and “dressed” the house for sale, resulting in my dad achieving a good price for his home. She organised and co-ordinated movers, disposal of unwanted furniture and household paraphernalia, cleaning, unpacking, even the hanging of his artwork in his new home. Nothing was broken.

Even after his move she assisted him with sorting and organising his new home. No request was too much trouble. She was able to put us in contact with all the people we needed to have my father’s new place painted and carpeted.

She was kind and gentle with my dad as this was a very difficult time for him. Her communication is excellent. She was non-judgmental and listened to what our father wanted and was very patient with his many requests. She coped better than my sister and I did when he changed the possession dates on us.

She was professional, reliable and dealt with everything quickly and efficiently. She was thorough and caught anything that we had overlooked.

“I am writing to express my sincere thanks for all your hard work that you recently undertook for me when my sister entered into Ryman Retirement Village at Greenlane. I am so grateful that we employed you and I hate to think how it would have been if we hadn’t undertaken this!

You took all the worries out of my hands and I can’t express my gratitude enough. From the first phone call you set my mind at rest. You clearly set out all that you could undertake to make Ann’s transition to the village easy for all concerned. Nothing was a bother to you and I appreciated how you took time to answer my many phone calls and texts. You always replied so quickly and any fears I had were quickly allayed!

You took on the worry of hiring moving vans and movers and suggesting packaging and then oversaw every part of the removal from her old home to her new apartment with such expertise and experience.

Part of your contract was to come before removal day to look at what was being moved (which was an excellent idea) as you could see the things that were precious to Ann. You ensured that many of these items were carried by you in your car and thus they were treated with such care. Not a thing was broken in the shift!

Nothing was too much trouble for you and with your experience little things that I worried about eg items in the deep freeze and fridge were nothing to you! You ensured that there were containers for all items and I didn’t have to run around getting extra chilli bins! Your suggestion to make sure that Ann didn’t come to the new apartment until everything was in place was just fabulous! When we did arrive, it was to find that you had put away all that was possible from everything in the kitchen to the bed being put up and made. It was like Ann had been in the apartment for many weeks! With new furniture still to come, you ensured that unpacked boxes were out of the way so Ann would not trip over them. Your help, several days later, to oversee this new furniture being put into its correct place in the apartment was just wonderful. I did not have the worry of finding out how to go about getting it into Ryman. You then ensured that all packaging was taken away.

It was such a such a wise move to employ your services and I have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who wants to take the stress out of moving!
